Pregnancy, childbirth, and life with your new baby are not what you expected it to be. You feel like a bad parent no matter what you do. You miss your partner and wonder if having a baby has ruined your relationship. Add all of the stress and sleeplessness on top of the other issues with work, money, and family— It’s scary and lonely at times. You are not alone. Becoming a parent is a life-changing event, for yourself, your partner, and your relationship. It’s a new journey, an opportunity to grow together even when it feels like it’s pulling you apart.Individual and family therapy for moms and dads - It’s common for new parents to experience stress during this transition, but sometimes the stress can make managing every day life feel impossible. You are doing the best you can, but you feel guilty for not being enough to your kids or your partner, and this feeling never seems to go away. Therapy can help you get the support and care you need to get relief and start enjoying your life and relationships again.
Couples Therapy - Most couples experience a drop in their relationship satisfaction after having kids. You don’t have the energy for romance or sex, and it might even be the last thing on your mind right now. Maybe your partner just doesn’t understand what it’s been like for you. The harder you try, the more it feels like you are getting it wrong. You miss that spark, and crave the connection that you had before. You are worried that becoming parents has ruined your relationship. Couples therapy can help you get to the heart of the issues driving a wedge between you and help you to: revive intimacy and your sex life, co-parent better, reconnect in your friendship, argue less, and have more productive communication.
Bringing Baby Home for couples program is a research-based couples parenting workshop that focuses on strengthening the foundation of the couple relationship for co-parenting and long-term relationship satisfaction to support your growing family. Workshop goals include learning how to maintain relationship satisfaction and intimacy after having a baby, reduce relationship hostility and increase affection, nurture baby’s development and promote positive parent-baby interactions, promote quality co-parenting with your partner, and prevent postpartum stress.
